Compass announces changes to its executive structure and presents a plan to support the transition

NEW YORK, May 12, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Compass, Inc. (NYSE: COMP), a leader in technology-based residential real estate brokerage, today announced that Chief Financial Officer, Kristen Ankerbrandt, will be leaving Compass in September to pursue opportunities outside of the Company. Compass also announced that Product Manager, Greg Hartwas promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
Ankerbrandt joined Compass in 2018. During her tenure, she successfully steered the company through a period of rapid growth, overseeing its IPO and posting positive earnings for five consecutive quarters. Ankerbrandt will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer until September 2022. Compass has launched the search for a permanent CFO to build on the company’s strong financial position and further accelerate its growth as a key member of the management team. The Company has retained the services of an international executive search firm to conduct the search. Both internal and external candidates will be assessed.

With this promotion, Greg Hart adds leadership from the Compass Operations organization to its oversight of the Compass Product organization, bringing the teams that work with agents every day closer together to build the platform and tools that enable customers to be more successful.
Hart joined Compass in April 2020, after 23 years at Amazon, involved in all aspects of product development, general and product management, marketing, content and e-commerce. Hart has held positions ranging from marketing in the early days of Amazon, to product management in Amazon’s media operations, to general management of billion-dollar e-commerce companies, to management of the creation and launch of Amazon Alexa & Echo, and finally to the global management of Prime Video. Hart has extensive experience in building and managing large, globally-distributed teams comprising line-of-business leaders, marketers, product managers and technical staff. Along with Compass’ Chief Technology Officer, Joseph Sirosh, he oversaw the development of Compass’ integrated technology platform designed to help agents grow their business. Sirosh will continue in his role as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for engineering, AI and enterprise technology, and will continue to report to the Founder, President and CEO of Compass Robert Reffkin.
