Stony Brook Athletics introduce new Seawolves United membership structure

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook Athletic Department announced today that they will officially introduce an updated Seawolves United program, including new membership levels with new benefits. The new membership model, which will officially launch in January 2023, has been designed to maximize support for all athletic programs and student-athletes at Stony Brook.

“It is imperative that we increase our support for Stony Brook Athletics through contributions to Seawolves United. Our focus on fundraising has led us to take a critical look at how best to grow our membership base while offering the highest level of service to our donors. Seawolves United’s new structure allows donors at all levels to feel connected to our vision of success,” said the athletic director. Shawn Heilbron.

As Stony Brook Athletics embarks on its new venture within the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), the support of the extended Seawolves United family is essential as the department continues its relentless pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. .

Beginning this year, whether donors choose to directly support Seawolves United’s Unrestricted Annual Fund or any of Stony Brook’s individual athletic programs, they will become Seawolves United Members.

Previously, only donors who chose to support the Seawolves United Unrestricted Annual Fund were recognized as members. Seawolf United membership now starts at $100, which is known as the Seawolf tier.

Launched in 2016, Seawolves United’s mission is to build meaningful personal relationships that connect individuals to Stony Brook Athletics by aligning their philanthropic interests with the department’s strategic priorities.

Since developing Seawolves United, Stony Brook Athletics has benefited from more than $12.8 million in private contributions from more than 5,700 donors.
